my most favorite place to hike, located in cold spring harbor. I am glad there were two sunny days over this past weekend I could share with you!

anytown, long island

two beautiful sunny blue sky days in a row! pieces and bits of nature are starting to burst. when the sun shines, everything is golden. this is our pussy willow tree in our backyard.

amityville

I am tired of this grey weather! you can see though, this town still looks quaint on the south shore that also happens to be the location of the amityville horror house. we used to drive by it when we were teenagers. what we expected to happen as we drove by makes me laugh when I think about this memory. it became the subject of a book, the amityville horror-a true story, which later influenced a series of films as well-none of which are memorable.

massapequa preserve

natures finest can be found here. the view is quite wonderful as you can see. this preserve has a path running through it for bikers, walkers & runners. natures beauty distracts one from the maintenance this path unfortunately needs. I try not to notice.

the greatest story ever told
can be heard daily inside the walls of this parish. this parish has a wonderful tradition of generous giving. it is very inspiring.

euro deli

pierogis, stuffed cabbage, beer. this is what is posted on the euro deli sign outside their shop in copiague, long island. while waiting in line to purchase some kielbasa my senses were filled with all things polish. polish easter tradition has it that you must eat kielbasa, and preferably with a hard boiled egg. if you look closely you can see the kielbasa rings hanging in the glass case. 
the line was out the door! 

good friday

like a little gem tucked away in the village of brookville, we first discovered this church when my son used to take his violin lessons in the choir room with his beloved teacher miss jo.
