we have a lot of cherries again this year! remember last year? it took us hours to pick them, wash them, pit them and then finally bake them. & last year my dear sister-in-law was helping! I shudder to think about the labor intensive work that lies ahead with regard to our yearly ritual. I know, it's not as if anyone is twisting my arm - but have you ever tried fresh out of the oven cherry pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream? if you haven't, than I highly recommend you do so asap.

Our tree had no cherries this year! I don't know why.
Fresh, happy, summery pic!
Just the thought of that cherry pie makes me hungry!
Cherries are so good!
Here on the hills of Turin, the town of Pecetto is renowned for cherries.
Lucky you! I wish I had cherry tree. Your description of the pie and the photo is making my mouth water.
great pic, i love this one. ;)
Daryl, I would never make you do work for pie! I promise!
I really got a kick out of hearing everyone's love for cherry pie. I never really thought about cherry pie until I moved here & realized we had a cherry tree that produced a small crop of cherries every June. It wasn't until then that I ever ate a tart cherry. Prior to this I only sampled the standard deep red ones (which I love) that I'd get at the supermarket. Our backyard tree opened up a whole new world for me!
