Fierceness, loyalty, and femininity all rolled into one. That's the definition of a She-wolf, right? A miniature She-wolf but a She-wolf nonetheless, Peanut is my friend's daughters dog (from Virginia). She wags her tail in the same rapid fire way as her cousin Priscilla and when petted, emits a coarse sounding purr like her too.

As you can see, Northern Virginia is a little bit ahead of us in the springtime department. The sea of pink above is what I believe to be a Cherry tree - which of course makes me so look forward to our backyard Cherry tree. Below is the Redbud showing off its perfect heart shaped leaves.

Over the years, my Virginia friend has often spoke lovingly of the bluebells over at Bull Run. Much to my delight, yesterday we found ourselves there. They were every bit of awesome that I imagined.

When Ian was home on spring break, we drove into Manhattan for a quick visit to our old stomping grounds in the West Village. I've posted about this amazing NY food landmark before and I am happy to report it is still open for business and still serving its menu of quintessential New York (yummy) diner food.

It's hard to believe Forty something years ago my two older brothers and I posed for this picture. Can you tell which one is the rebel?

I took my cousin to the lighthouse at Fire Island on that glorious Thursday we had last week. She was visiting from Pennsylvania and couldn't wait to see the beach she used to play on as a child. We walked the boardwalk to the lighthouse and then took the path to the beach. It was pretty awesome.
It's hard to believe that four mornings earlier we had weather like this!

Today is a gorgeous day weather wise and so was last Saturday at Uplands Farm where I spent the better part of the morning hiking. It seems like I was just here, but that was last December!

Last weekend I found myself in front of Macy's Herald Square at 9AM on Sunday morning. Unbeknownst to me, it was the last day of their flower show. If you look at the reflection in the picture below, you can see one of New York's busiest intersections is nearly empty - so I got to enjoy Macy's windows without the crowds. It was a beautiful sunny morning.

Last night's sunset was amazing and so was yesterday's weather! I posted a few shots on my instagram which you can access on my left sidebar. I actually spent part of the day cleaning up outside without freezing. I also planted some Easter bulbs and though I am not clear as to whether or not they will actually bloom this spring - the directions on the box were kind of vague, I will definitely keep you posted.
