K is for krisch's ice cream parlour

every easter krisch's ice cream parlour in massapequa opens a small confectionery inside their store, filling it to the brim with homemade chocolate bunnies. lately I noticed the place has started to look run down. hopefully business will go well for them this year so they can fix things up a little.
today is abc wednesday thanks to our host mrs. nesbitt and her team, sylvia, troy, roger, barb, jay and gattina. the letter for the day is K. please visit the abc wednesday meme page to join in the fun.

I love the old sign. I think that I'd be in trouble if I won a 30 pound chocolate bunny, big troble. :)

30 pounds? It would make a huge block party!
Did you take a chance?

I too love the sign - nice angle on the shot!
My trouble is that I cannot stop eating a chocolate anything until it's gone...good thing I can't win a big choco-bunny!

I don't know how krisch ice cream tastes ! If I would win the 30 pound bunny the whole street would be happy ! I am not so much a chocolate eater.

Oh my, that's a lot of chocolate. I like the old sign and family businesses. Hope they can keep it going.

A 30-lb. chocolate bunny? And here I sit in Belgrade, with no chance of making a purchase to win it? Oh....maybe that's a good thing.

The perfect "K"!
I would like the 30 lb solid choc rabbit, and die happy as I nibble the choc slowly.

Do you have Good Friday off?

A bit of a mouthful, that one :-)

What fun, 30 lbs just might be a little more than I could handle, but not much. Fun to see the Sign and the "olde time" ice cream shop, has to be better than Baskin Robbins.

Love the sign! Now I want some chocolate!
Got a lot of signs around here that are half lit. Has an odd charm, I suppose.

On behalf of the ABC Wednesday team, thank you!

Wow—Krisch's! I grew up in Massapequa and have all sorts of fond memories of hanging out here. My best friend worked here on the weekends when we were in high school—can you say "free ice-cream"?? Don't remember any 30-pound bunnies though. Yikes.

«Louis» is very picky about ice cream. He only likes two kinds: homemade and store-bought. He thinks Krisch's might qualify. E-mail some to him, PLEASE!

Run down? Are you kidding?? That place is amazing and is being improved all the time, the person who wrote that has no clue of the word "NOSTALGIA" Been going there for years for the bunnies and chocolates! Top Notch! :)

Hi Anonymous, I am the one who wrote this post, Lily, the author of this blog.
I love Krisch's nostalgia (as you can see by the nice photos I posted) just as much as you do. I too get my bunnies there every year. & That is why I was concerned when I noticed (as a frequent visitor of Krisch's) that the outside of the store looks like it needs some cleaning up. I purposely posted only lovely photos so everyone could see the nostalgia that people love about Krisch's. I'm sorry you didn't see my post as one of concern.
