as the full moon rises...

please click on photo to see more detail

last night I could sense the traffic rushing home more quickly than usual. I wondered if everyone wanted to get home in time to watch some baseball. someone from my neighborhood responded to my post yesterday about how quiet the streets were. she said it was due to the fact that everyone was at home glued to their TV sets watching the world series. I think she may be right. so, are you a yankee fan? game six is wednesday, I can feel the tension mounting...

this post is a part of my world tuesday. to share a part of yours or just see more of others, please go here, thanks to klaus for hosting with his team of helpers, sandy, wren, fishing guy, sylvia and louise.

I was always a Yankee fan. I certainly am NOT a Phillies fan - Both team and fans seem to me to be crude and rude and unsportsmanlike. But truly, these days, I'm just weary of it all. It's only a game!! And it's played by overpaid, self-important, immature men. I couldn't care less.

But I do like your photo.

Terrific shot, Lily! I've gotten really fed up with sports in general these days I'm afraid, but that's just me.

Have a great day!

I love this shot. The moon has been spectacular the last couple of days. I love baseball -- at least college baseball -- and root for the professional team that spends the least money on players!!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE this shot. The green just pops out! And I'm so bad at taking evening/night shots, so I'm really impressed with this. I'm a Mets fan, so the fact that the Yankees are in the World Series really irks me. I'm rooting for the Phillies because I'm an underdog fan. Can't say I've been watching much of the Series, though...although I have caught a few of A-Rod's plays. Damn, he's good. Happy November!

Great shot, Lily! And I believe your neighbor is right about the quiet. Think you know I've been a fan ever since my dad worked with the Yankees back in the '60s. So I'm loyal, but have to agree that bobbie has made a sad but valid point. The game's just not what it once was.

gorgeous sky and moon...yes, that was me who mentioned the World Series and quiet streets. Tomorrow is the next game so I expect Conklin St. to be quiet again! but no, I'm not a Yankee fan... Let's Go Mets (ok, next year maybe)

Wow, beautiful photo. Electrical wires everywhere on Long Island, but in this photo they really work.

stunning photo -- the moon between the traffic lights. yes, many folks are glued to the t.v. for the series.

Great shot. Love the color and the glimpse of moon.
I'm not any kind of sports fan. I'd rather watch the sky.
