early evening sunset

as we merged onto the northern state parkway my son leaned over and snapped this photo catching reflections of the sun as it was setting. I don't know what it is exactly, but there is something about this photo that reminds me of the 70's.

today's post is a part of "weekend reflections" hosted by james over at newtown area photo. please go here if you would like to join in the fun. happy saturday everyone.

Yes, thank you, Ian! Not sure I get the '70s thing—to me it says '50s, maybe because that's when I first was on this road as a little kid—but the light is just great.
(Re yesterday's post: You're welcome—I got a real kick out of it.)

Maybe the bleached sun on the cars is just a part of 70´s that we can´t escape. I can see that too. I feel that this is a still from French Connection or some other 70´s William Friedkin movie. He always knew how to get the most out of cars, streets and bridges.

I can see the 70s
long lines for gas maybe
plus that general industrial feel that the 70s seemed to have

Ian has a good eye :)

I really like this, the light is great. And I was thinking 70's too, probably bad memories of gas lines like Diane mentioned. Kathy

I think it says 'Woodstock,' with the school bus (I mean, it may be a hippie bus!)

Food for thought!
Well done, beautiful lights reflections!I think the colours could remind you the 70's...I really don't know.
Anyway it's cool and congrats to IAN!

Nice shot, especially since you were going the other way. Don't you hate sitting in traffic?
