shadow shot sunday?

please click on photo see shadows up close

does my shadow in the window count as a shadow or is that technically a reflection? there are some shadows around the mannequins hands and inside the tree but they're not exactly the dramatic shadows I hoped to get for today's post. I do like this photo for some reason though.
I was at the walt whitman mall yesterday and was a little disappointed with the window displays. very few windows looked enticing or inviting for that matter. I guess with all the cutbacks in much of the labor force, it seems as though many stores let go of their creative departments.

this post is a part of "hey harriet's" shadow shot sunday meme hosted by tracy. thanks tracy! please go here if you'd like to participate or see more shadow shots.

You've captured both reflections and shadows. I like the subtle shadows! I've noticed the same thing with window displays around here lately too. The Christmas displays are not as impressive as they normally are. So it must be a global thing... :(

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

It looks like Christmas! Not here. Only sand. And pyramids.
Happy SSS! :)
It’s that time of year—
putting up the Christmas lights
brings goodwill and cheer.

Very interesting shadows in your photo, Lily. I don't get to many places with window displays these days, but every store seems to have gone all out inside for Christmas - since Halloween.

Loving the subtle shots you have today.

I have to go to see the city nxt week end to see how they decorate their windows for the years Christmas deco.

I hope Swedes think in different way.

Have a blissday.

Aw, reflection/shadow, after all, isn't a reflection basically a shadow on glass?! I like this photo too, getting in the spirit of Christmas!

Shadows or reflections or both, it's a marvelous capture and I love it, Lily!

Can't believe they're already decorating for Christmas! We haven't even had Thanksgiving!! Seems as though they move up the decorating at earlier every year.

Enjoy your day!

Sylvia
Wonderful subtly in the shadows and reflections in this holiday shot with the vibrant reds! Great choice.
Hugs and blessings,

Those shadows and reflections combine to make a shot you can build a story around

I wonder how Walt Whitman would feel, knowing there is a shopping mall named after him?
