pink fire hydrant with shadows

originally this must have been red and than faded by the sun. though we did get a bit of a first snow today, none of it stuck. it's not like I have a choice, but I have to say, I'm not ready for winter quite just yet.
I snapped this picture last march and never had the chance to post it. you can see someone shoveled a path from the hydrant out to the street in case of emergency. I know all about having to do this since we have a fire hydrant directly in front of our house too.

this post is a part of "hey harriet's" shadow shot sunday meme hosted by tracy. thanks tracy! please go here if you'd like to participate or see more shadow shots. enjoy your day everyone.

Such a feminine little fire hydrant. You and I enjoyed (if that's the word) the same weather today—and I hope we get to enjoy some sunshine pretty soon.
Buon domenico!

If I ever get a fire hydrant outside our place, I want one just like this! And the blue shadows are lovely, Lily. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

I can't imagine what it would be like to have to shovel snow to make pathways! I love how the fire hydrant has faded to a pretty pink. It looks sweet in that white fluffy snow. I'm jealous. I want a white Christmas. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Shadows in the snow - Brrrrrr
Water within you—
is it frozen, fire hydrant,
or just icy cold?

Lovely color of the fire hydrant and also the shadows in the snow! It never occurred to me that snow would need to be shoveled to access a hydrant. :)

That is a very cute fire hydrant and it´s so funny that there is a bunny shaped thingy on it when looking at the bigger version. Happy winter!
it is a lovely colour that hydrant

I think you're right about the red color fading, but then maybe it was painted a dull reddish color...we have some fire hydrants in Florida that are bright yellow with blue trim!

Go figure!
Hi Lily

I am in Colorado to celebrate my grandson's first birthday and it is snowing today..lots of it! It looks so beautiful, and I don't have to shovel it, so I love it! :-)

That's definitely not a fire-hydrant color one typically sees!
