day of the dead

Happy-Skeleton-Day-of-the-Dead

an art lesson in discovering the "day of the dead" gives us an example of how children make sense of it all. I found this happy skeleton next to yesterday's witches. I like to think that my loved ones who have crossed over are happy where they are.

p.s. please go to cha no ma-ri and check out her amazing post about day of the dead & cookies! you will be very happy that you did.

Our celebration here is tomorrow I think. Maybe I'd better double check. I love this piece you shared today!

Love this! I learned about the Day of the Dead a few years ago through a friend/client (I built her website). It's a very interesting ritual and celebration, very colorful and joyous. I think it's a nice way to celebrate the memories of those who have passed away. And of course, I've made cookies for this occasion...

What a cute skeleton, with his big grin and perky hat.
