book hampton

this one is in east hampton. just look at this place! I love all the details, the adirondack chair in the window display, the pendant lights inside, hanging in a row, the cheery windows with white trim against the red brick. and most importantly they always have interesting books to read, books you'd like to peruse while getting away from it all.
I've been to the one in southampton too, but I had no idea there were four of these independent book stores out east. I am amazed there are actually any of these smaller type book stores left! if you are interested, go here to check out their website.

"Louis" would love to visit this place! He's quite the bookworm. He has over 500 books and reads at any opportunity!

Sad to say, many such stores are just disappearing. We lost one near here recently.

I love independent bookstores. There so much more cozy than the chains. It's unfortunate that there's not more of them around.
You are right, it is surprising to see small bookstores surviving nowadays.

Does it sell in vintage and hard-to-find books?

I love the smell of old bookstores, and can lose myself inside for hours. I've been an avid reader from the day I learned how. I'm currently trying to get some of that to rub off on my little guy. When he was just over two, he would constantly peel the book away from my face, look at the pages, then look up at me and say, "So What's the Word's." He prefers the bright, louder atmosphere of a good Barnes and Noble over the more respected confines of a private shop.

Looks like a great bookstore to visit. Your photo reminds me I want to pictures of our local flower shops window, they always have the cutest display.

Oh my, Louis, you are quite the bookworm!

Pietro, it is very snug.

Babzy, you are in good company here!

I'm sorry to hear that Bobbie. Unfortunately it seems like we will be seeing a lot more closings of many stores in the near future.

Hi Luv, there used to be so many more!
& Ming, I didn't see any old books here, but I didn't look through everything. I got stuck in the art section and then I ran out of time & had to leave.

Morty, you are a good Dad. My sons former teacher said that if you do only one thing for your child's education it should be to read to them or with them.

Chrissy, I'll have to pop over & check that out!

I always enjoy a good, cozy bookshop. Just the place to sit down, read, or just look at the book covers. Nice shot.
