soho skywatch

please click on photo for amazing architectural details

they may not be the tallest buildings in new york, but I find them among the most interesting. while crossing grand street I stopped for a moment to take in the view, when I realized, what an interesting skywatch! though it's not the usual nature type I mostly post on fridays, it was still a significant piece of sky scenery happening right before my eyes. I hope you enjoy it as well. if you'd like to share a favorite skywatch of your own or you'd like to see more beautiful skies, please go here.

Those fire escapes sure make the buildings look so different.

Those buildings are lovely and the geometry of the fire escapes.

I think so too. The sky looks more interesting when seen through trees, leaves, some buildings, between mountains..

Wow, those buildings were kind of scary to me when I visited there, years back. It seemed to me that they were just closing in on me. :-) That was my first visit.

indeed a very nice skywatch picture ! I like the fire ladders on the buildings that's so special to me. We don't have this in Belgium.
This works for me as a sky watch photo. I love all of the different angles with the sky in the background. Have a good weekend.

As much as I love nature, architectural shots really grab me. I love the city and its man-made forests. It's exciting.
But then I love coming home.

I think it's a great shot but I've got to admit I'm more interested in the buildings than the sky.
:-)
Very neat. Living out in the country makes it even neater for me to see the beautiful buildings because it is not something I see often. Megan

I love this shot - The buildings in the foreground and the wonderful sky in the back. They set each other off very nicely.
