n is for nighttime

please click on photo to see interesting textures up close

have you ever noticed any water main covers on the streets by where you live? I honestly can't say I have, until of course walking around my neighborhood the other evening. I was intrigued by the play of light and dark shadows so I took a chance and snapped some photos. most times I don't do well with night shots, so I was happy to have found this actually worked.

today is abc wednesday thanks to our host mrs. nesbitt. the letter for the day is N. please go here to join in the fun.

Beautiful effect in this image, Lily. I've never seen "water" signs on our streets: we have some "Stipel" (telephone) signs.

What a terrific shot, Lily! I love it, but I don't think I've ever seen one like it -- at least not here in Seattle! You find such cool stuff!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Very interesting textures. I love to try night shots. They don't always work, but when they do, they are special. Love this one of yours.

Yes, you really did well on this one. Haven't looked recently, but will, and will let you know if I see any water mains!
It almost looks edible, somehow. I thing it's time to have some breakfast.

That texture is fabulous!
Love the cobalt blue night colors.
When you visit my blog, I have a photo up for ABC Wed, as a newbie, but ironically, I also posted a poem about the night a couple of posts back. It's under "Bump and Grind" (and is PG rated.)
National Grid was dumping water on the street of Albany the other day, for reasons unknown to me.
