C is is for central... as in grand central station in new york city

it was so crowded around here the other night you would have thought you were standing in the middle of grand central station. only I was sitting in traffic just outside grand central station (and it was still very crowded) when I was lucky enough to get this shot. doesn't the chrysler building add that extra special touch to this background?
if you are new to this blog, you should know I love visiting manhattan, it's close proximity makes it a wonderful benefit for people who live on long island.
today's post is dedicated to the letter C. if you'd like to see other representations of the letter C or if you'd like to add your own C representation please visit 'abc wednesday'.

Great night shot. I've been to Grand Central Station! Yeah! Many years ago. I agree with you that the Chrysler Building adds that extra touch! Manhattan would not be Manhattan without the Chrysler Building. It's a pretty building.
When I was at Grand Central Station I had suitcases in both hands, so I had not way of taking pics.
I'll be back to visit again.
Best wishes,
Anna

Oh, wowee. A great contrast. Sorry I've been out a bit...wedding and all...trying to get back to normal!

I have fond memories of Grand Central Station when my grandfather used to take me from Pa. to NYC.

Well done, Lily!! I work right across the street and have never managed a shot that's anywhere near this good (especially at night)! Seriously, great composition and great shot.

thanks you guys!
it really was pure luck with the lighting.
& Virginia, it looks like this color at night when all of the outside lights are shining on it. the darkness of night seems to accentuate the yellow.
Gorgeous photo Lily! Night shots can be difficult. I love the way GC is lighted.

Great night capture. Grand Central was wildly crowded the few times I was there. A crush of people!

wow, you've really captured this area of town. I worked in the Chrysler Bldg. for almost 10 years and never stopped marveling at how it shined in the sunlight or glowed in the evenings. I was lucky enough to have taken some training classes up on the 70th floor (where the triangle windows are) and what a view! We were told to bring our cameras. The views were breathtaking. Again, great photo!

Beautiful building, beautiful photo.

When we came over to visit NYC, I asked if we could go to Grand Central Station, and I was stunned, even though I expected something special!
