flowers the size of dinner plates

Dinner-Plate-Sized-Flowers-at-Block-Island,RI

today's flower was found on, you guessed it, block island. I spotted this while out riding my bike. and though it may be hard to tell by looking at this photo, the largest white flower is bigger than my rather large adult hand.

It's amazing how large some of these flowers grow. These are gorgeous shots with such vibrant color.

Beautifully framed shot, Lily, of this...is it a Rose of Sharon? If so, it has to be the biggest one I've heard of, though this summer I did see some larger-than-usual ones here.

I've also seen some like these recently down by Battery Park. (I think it's a hardy hibiscus, aka rose mallow or dinner plate hibiscus.) You've captured them so beautifully!
