autumnal light...

that is what I thought of when I saw the light streaming into our kitchen at this angle. it's that time of year again. the sun is getting lower as this side of the earth moves fully into fall. which reminds me, has anyone noticed how utterly dark out it is in the morning? I wake up at six o'clock in the morning and it is so pitch black out, it may as well be midnight.
please visit  hey harriet's, 'shadow shot sunday'  meme if you want to join in the fun or if you'd like to see more shadows. & a big thank you to tracy for hosting shadow shot sunday too.

And the sun sets so early. 7pm last night, 6:58 tonight.
I love that phrase "autumnal light" -- so evocative.

The light and shadows are very lovely, Lily. {I like that cute little domed doo-dad, too!} Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

great shot. I love your cabinet knobs. They are charming.

I can't get over the time of year once again. It's such a challenge to take photos!!

Nice shadow shot. You mentioned in your post the morning darkness, I too wake at 6 am and have found it to be rather dark. My body wants to remain asleep in the darkness I have a hard time waking up while my bedroom is still dark. Personally, I will be glad when the time changes so that it will be day light in the mornings when I have to get up.

It's a beautiful light, but you're right—there are definitely not enough hours of it. Have to come home in the dark, but I'll be glad to at least have some in the morning.
Yep, the long shadows tell us summer is over. I also like peeking into your cabinet.

This is what being alive is all about. I love marking where the sun is throughout the year. It's just a matter of paying attention. Takes away all boredom.
