Lost-at-Sea-Memorial-at-Montauk-Point-Lighthouse

a memorial stands outside the montauk point lighthouse "in remembrance of those lost at sea while fishing these waters"  in the photo below you are looking at it from atop the lighthouse. please excuse the reflection of my shirt in the second photo - I was shooting it through a window since you are no longer allowed to go outside onto the narrow viewing deck. today's post is dedicated to shadow shot sunday. if you want to join in the fun, please visit  hey harriet's shadow shot sunday meme. and a big thank you to tracy for hosting shadow shot sunday too.

That is a pretty wonderful looking memorial and one that I was never aware of previously. And THAT is what I enjoy about blogging... the learning adventure.

Nice photos.
Thanks for your nice comment at my blog.
That's a sobering memorial.

TALKING SHADOWS?

Imagine a shadow could talk
In whisper or rumble or squawk;
Just what would it say
To make you go, “Hey!
You’re just a chip off the old block!”?

What a beautiful photo - I love the blues of the sky and the ocean. If you hadn't mentioned your shirt reflection I don't think I would have noticed. But when I looked at it, it looked like something spooky in the water. :-)

I love these photos. My favorite thing in the world is Lighthouses. Once you reach the top, there is usually a breeze blowing and the view is spectacular.
The statue in your photo is great, with the beautiful blue sky as a backdrop.
Great Post!
