the notorious biggie smalls and the ed koch bridge

Biggie-Smalls-and-Mellow-Yellow-Monday

ian pointed out the portrait of mr. smalls painted on the mellow yellow building as we sped by while driving on the long island expressway last saturday. we drove into manhattan so we could attend new york university's open house for prospective college students. we were very impressed to say the least. now if only we had $63,000 dollars to send him there - and that would be for just 1 year!
to see more mellow yellow, please visit drowsey monkey over at mellow yellow monday.

We made the same discovery when we investigated ourselves for the Tisch school!

The price of a good education has simply become more than the normal family can afford. Makes you wonder who even attends those universities anymore, within a full scholarship that is.

oh wow that's a lot of money for one year! we're in the college looking phase now too, so stressful. everyone tells me to send her to a community college for the first 2 years then she can transfer....my husband isn't in on it though....would make life easier, and cheaper!

Cool! So who was driving and who was snapping?
My daughter Lila graduated from NYU's Gallatin School in 2001. Has it really gone from $25,000 to $63,000 in 10 years? Scar-y!!

Oh, the price of college today. I wonder what it will be when Mimi is ready to go. Shudder.

And what a great shot! It's one of those images that you probably pass a lot and don't think much of but see all of the time. Happy Monday!
That building looks nice in yellow!

Visiting from MYM! Hope you can visit me too if you have not done yet:)

Ouch!!! Tuition is still free for Scottish students studying at Scottish universities, but if they go to England they pay £9,000 a year, and English students coming to Scotland pay £9,000. Are you nearly finished your tour of possible universities? My daughter just finished her application tonight - hooray!! all that's left now is for her school to add a reference statement and then off it goes electronically to the central processing agency. Does your son apply to each university separately, or is there a central processing bureau?
