grapevine with shadows

my husband just told me that this summer's heat was a record breaker. he must have read it in the new york time's website. last night was the first time I've had to wear a long sleeve layer over my summer blouse in probably about three months. it was so weird exiting the movie theater and feeling a chilly breeze!
I think we may have been the last two people on long island to see the movie 'inception'. I have to agree with everyone who told me to make sure I saw it on the big screen but I also have to say my expectations were too high given the tremendous word of mouth buzz. so of course I expected more. but I'm a sucker for leonardo dicaprio so it wasn't too disappointing and even though michael cain was only in it for about 5 seconds he made it that much better too. all in all it was good fun which is always nice.
please visit  hey harriet's, 'shadow shot sunday'  meme if you want to join in the fun or if you'd like to see more shadows. & a big thank you to tracy for hosting shadow shot sunday too.
I should also mention the grapevine is the curvy branches to the left  and right, sort of framing this photo. if you want to see the actual grapes, check out my previous post here.

I love the green look of summer!!! And what a great shadow shot! We're already seeing some changing colors and we've had one of the coolest summers on record! That along with the earliest spring on record does seem to make it a record breaking year! Glad you enjoyed the movie, I haven't seen it yet. I tend to expect too much and then get disappointed! So, I don't go often! Hope you're enjoying a great Labor Day Weekend!

Your shadows are timeless this week, Lily. Or maybe it's the white picket fence.)

Looks so cool in this shade. Glad to hear your heat finally broke.

And I thought "Inception" was great fun! I think Leonardo is a fantastic actor, ever since he was a kid, in fact. Didn't always choose the best movies when he was younger, but it looks like he's finally learned.

3 months of hot summer is a long time...Here in Casa it's still +29...and humid (this morning not too bad).
You can look at this shadow shot in the winter time when it's darker and colder... :)
Happy Sunday!

Very pretty shadows! I'm happy that my grapevine is showing signs of life again now that it's spring over here! Yes! Leonardo Dicaprio was great in Inception! But hey, he's great in every film he appears in :)

I hope you enjoy the rest of your long weekend. Happy Labor Day!

Great shadow shot! After Earl passed through, all our leaves were either gone or had turned black from the pounding they took. ~karen

Your photo evokes a picture of a lazy summer afternoon in the lengthening shadows as the day cools a little and the shade makes for a relaxing snooze. Love those kind of days.
For some reason it takes me back to the past.
Thank you for visiting and your kind comments.☺

Nice photo of a quiet nook that many of us would overlook. I also liked the angles and clarity of yesterday's posting.

The grapevine makes lovely, lacy shadows. Nice photo!

lovely patterned shadows - and I agree about inception - some great visuals but a totally silly premise and overrated!!
