a hairy poppy about to burst

Bursting-Poppy
by this time last year many of the poppies in our garden were already in full bloom. I remember taking a picture of this one when the morning light turned every blooming poppy the most intense beautiful orange I had ever seen. this year everything seems to be popping up later.

Beautiful! (I've been über-busy and am playing catch-up. Love all your Boston pix, Lily.)

There's always the temptation to pop a poppy when they're at this stage!
Looks like forget-me-nots in the background - must be a lovely combination when both are in bloom.
