the good, the bad and the ugly

Farmingdale-Snow-Removal-at-its-Worst

remember how convenient the blizzard was last weekend? the weathermen seemed to know exactly when the snow was going to arrive. it all started on a friday and the bulk of the storm happened over friday night into saturday so most people had plenty of time to prepare. and though I did hear there were some people who were stuck overnight in their cars on the long island expressway during the storm, for the most part things went fairly well for us here on long island - except for the cleanup. check out the lame attempts at clearing a path for this sidewalk, and the bus stop below - how are people supposed to get to it? and this is nothing compared to what the commuters had to endure trying to get to their trains. three days after the storm and the long island railroad probably shoveled all of two measly paths for people to get to the sidewalk that led to the train's platform. it was nearly impossible to navigate my car over the lopsided plow job in their parking lot without skidding into nearby cars. there has to be a better way. how was your area's clean up?
and not to be a complete debbie downer but check out all the trash around this bus stop that people left behind, what is that all about? I bet a large trash can might help, but that's another story.

That's a lot of snow...don't envy you.

It's times like these that I'm glad my commute is mostly underground and doesn't require a car!

I'm glad the snow is mostly gone but I think we're expecting more snow, again.
