A Mellow Yellow Morning at the Farmingdale Train Station

There's only a tiny bit of yellow in this picture, but as soon as I saw the golden light the sun was shining on the station, I immediately thought of "Mellow Yellow Monday, the (now defunct) blogger meme started by Drowsey Monkey.
Another week has begun, have a good one everyone.

Gee, take away that vending machine or whatever it is and part of the car, and this is really a timeless photo!

Love photo...
Farmingdale has a beautiful station house which is now only open on cold days to keep the commuters warm. Tix cannot be bought inside any longer as the LIRR wants you to use that ticket vending machine or mail n' ride.

I leave from the far east end (last car) every day pretty dark when I leave.

There used to be beautiful trees at the end of each parking aisle. Then the village cut them down to add 2 more parking spaces at each end of the lot. They took away about 6 spots along the trax to put in shrubs and trees afterwards, however, no one keeps up with them, and they are so overgrown, unkempt, littered w/ garbage its such an eyesore. The only time they paid any attention was when the US Open was in town (2002, and 2009)

yup, been commuting here since 1979.

I like how well taken care of the old station is. And the softness of the yellow tones they used. I would enjoy commuting from here.
