star magnolia revisited

Beautiful Star Mangnolia

a little late posting today.

I'm unaccustomed to staying up until 3:30 in the morning and unfortunately it happens sometimes when you live with a teenager. in other news, it seems like the flowers aren't blooming fast enough around here so I thought I'd repost this photograph of the star magnolia tree I took back in april of 2008.

today's post is dedicated to shadow shot sunday. if you want to join in the fun, please visit  hey harriet's shadow shot sunday meme. a big thank you to tracy for hosting shadow shot sunday.

Very pretty!
The star magnolia outshines the regular magnolia any old day (or night, too, I presume!).

WELCOME THE SHADOWS

Welcome the shadows surrounding your life,
Treat them as lover or husband or wife;
Welcome them in as you would one who’s dear;
Hug them, embrace them without any fear;
Honor, respect them, and give them their due,
For shadow and light are both parts of you.

Wow! Gorgeous! Fortunately for me, my teenage daughter grew up. Hope you get some sleep soon.

It was only after I became an obsessive photographer and began haunting our botanical gardens for photos, that I discovered this fabulous tree. I love your shot. It's just lovely.
