brooklyn bridge revisited

please click on photos to see more details

I know, we were just here yesterday but I wanted you to see what I saw when nearing the end of it on the brooklyn side. the view was gorgeous & I have to say, with all the icky weather we've been having, I felt really lucky for the blue skies and puffy cloud backdrop. please look below & check out the pretty window box I found as I walked through brooklyn heights too.
some would say brooklyn is part of new york city and officially it is, but it also happens to be on long island. so, I can say, this is a part of my world. if you'd like to see what is happening in other parts of the world, please go here.
special thanks to klaus and his "my world team" sandy, ivar, wren, fishing guy and louise.

Pangs of nostalgia. We lived in Brooklyn over twenty five years and had many good friends, neighbors and shop owners there. Our first landlord was a high school english teacher who went on to write Angela's Ashes, Frank McCourt and his then wife who could swear like the harbor tugboat captain that her father was. I couldn't tell you how many times we walked, biked, skated and drove over "our" bridge in times of hapiness and times of sorrow, 9/11. Your excellent photos have brought all of this back to me in such a very fresh way. Thank you!

What a beautiful sky - Brooklyn has a personality like no other place - and, yes, technically it's Long Island.

That bank of clouds behind the skyline is marvelous.
Love the window box too.
It's my favorite bridge in the world Lily! Your photo is gorgeous! I hope you had a nice visit in my neck of the woods ;-)
I've always wanted to have that feeling of approaching NYC and then LEAVING it via the Brooklyn Bridge. Such a Long Island experience!

The wide-angle picture of the Brooklyn Bridge is also very attractive.
Very nice shots, Lily!
That window box is so sweet and the bridge just makes mine look so tiny.
Nice fluffy clouds in the background.

The sky IS beautiful. I like the perspective of that photo. But the window box just makes me happy!

Great picture! I guess no one's going to the FDR Drive since there's no one walking on the right! :-)
