t is for toys

please click on photo to see more window details

a nostalgia store with lots of very old toys, many complete in their original packaging. I love places like this. recently the public library in our town had a professional appraiser give a talk about his profession. he told his audience nostalgia always sells, especially if it is reminiscent of something dear to the buyer's childhood.
this post is a part of the abc wednesday meme. if you'd like to join in or just ponder other representations of the letter T, please go here.
so what about you? have you kept any special treasures from your childhood?

My Teddybear! It's battered and bruised, it's missing its tongue, its nose and one of its eyes, his tail is hanging loose and most of its fur is gone, but he still sits on my bedside table and when I feel decidedly miserable, he will comfort me while I go to sleep!
Great choice for t!

Oohs and Oz - that's wonderful!

I have a set of 3 characters- Pinocchio,Gepetto and Figaro. My brother gave them to me when he returned from service in WW II in the 40's. But my mother was one who threw out almost everything the minute she decided I didn't play with it any more. How I wish I still had some of those toys.
Lovely, they are not very easy to find these days, they are all big boring chains.

Oh yes, the very first doll I ever got which was when I was born is still in my possession ... Rosie (for whom my cat was named) sits on a one of the book shelves in our bedroom along with a Raggedy Ann doll an old beau shoplifted from Disneyland .. well he did ...

Thanks for the memories and neat shot!

soltarnos, ke difícil es. Pero a veces vale la pena. Aunque en vez de soltarme prefiero lanzarme.

My husband would love this store! Come to think of it, we all would! I love old toys and my husband sells collectables on Ebay.

Thanks Lily, for giving me another "new" place to check on LI.

What a brilliant shop that is! My old toys have long gone - but I bet I could find replacements there.

Many thanks, on behalf of the ABC Team.

I've been saving my kids toys for something. Maybe if the grandkids don't want them, they'd actually have monetary value. That is, if I could stand to part with them!
I like tbis stores name!

I blogged once about a store like this in Denver, CO called Yankee Trader that shopped at when I was visiting my son. I joked with the owner that I had a garage full of his stuff..lol It's so true that nostalgia sells
