art and shadows

notice the peep hole in the door behind the art

now through july 25th the "site specifics" show is being held at the islip art museum's carriage house. free to the public I found the modern art on display most intriguing. with the dreary grey weather we've been having, I was lucky one of the art works on exhibit included a nice shadow. I think the shadow was actually part of the art itself since lights were set up strategically to cast one on each piece, of which there were two. if you'd like to see more shadows or share one of your own, please visit the great shadow shot sunday meme right here.

and thank you miss tracy from "hey harriet" for another fun shadow shot sunday!

An unusual piece of art. It would work for the "odd shots" meme as well.

That is very interesting work of art, great shadow. Did you get any pictures of the carriage house? It sounds pretty neat.
I went to the museum today too in Philadelphia, it cost $14 each plus $10 to park, but I got some nice pictures. Stop by my Newtown and/or Something Sighted blog and check them out if you get a chance.
Thanks for the link If I'm ever around there I'd like to see the museum.

Don't care much for the art set up, but love the shadow. It looks human.

Interesting piece of art and the shadow it casts is nice, too.

Somehow those bolts on the trunks are so big and funny that I find them most intriguing. Good to have something else to look at than the grey skies.
