RIP Sylvia

once a feral young kitty found in our window well with her mewing kittens, it was at least a year before she would let us get close enough to pet her. what we didn't know then, was that Sylvia adopted us. over the next 9 years she found her way into our hearts by filling them with many happy memories, memories we have been sharing since we found her lifeless on the street last night. Sylvia seemed to take great pride in watching over her dominion, our home. I am sure she was waiting for us last night just like she always did. this picture shows her sitting on one of her favorite lookouts, this one facing our side door and kitchen window so she could keep watch as we entered and exited. we are missing her terribly right now.

This is a very sad reminder of why my cats stay indoors.

Thank you Daryl, she indeed was a great friend, such nice company, I am missing her so much, we all are.
Thanks Luv, I always admired her markings too.I think those "wide" eyes were there to fool her prey. We haven't had a mouse in 5 years thanks to Sylvia.
Thanks James, we were happy when we noticed she stayed inside more and more and didn't leave the property as much. but it only takes one instance and our luck ran out. She was not a tame cat by any means when she first started coming around and we never thought we would tame her as much as we did. I guess we were lucky to have had her for 9 years.
Thanks for the hugs Paz, we really need them right now.
Hugs to all of you --
Grieve not,
nor speak of me with tears,
but laugh and talk of me
as if I were beside you...
I loved you so -----
'twas Heaven here with you.
