Still Life with Mirror

Check out this little vignette I shot at The Dean Hotel in Providence last weekend. If you'd like to see more of their interior you can do so by clicking the instagram button over there on the left side of this picture.
There is nothing like staying at a brand spanking new hotel. I loved their firm mattress and thick cotton sheets. Their bath towels were nice and plush too. Other than the young man waking me up from my much needed afternoon nap - he was sanding his skate board with a VERY high powered sander outside on the sidewalk, I found my stay there to be quite comfortable.

Rainy with Clouds

Literally buckets of rain poured down on most of Long Island last night. Unfortunately as of this morning we still have snow and it's not too pretty - but it is 36 degrees, so I'm not complaining! Check out the scene below in sunnier weather here.

This Morning's Commute

I think I've moved past the phase of being sick of the snow and into one of acceptance.

Morning Sun After Snow

I purposely shot this through my car window hoping it would emphasize how it felt to be driving around after yesterday's big storm. The big news for today is the fact that we are experiencing a very sunny morning - just in time for Valentine's Day! Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

A Very Blurry Valentine

I heard we may possibly get thunder-snow tonight. Yeah, that sounds like a normal weather pattern. Not to get all apocalyptic or anything but has anyone heard of the book The Sixth Extinction? I'm linking a fascinating interview with the author Elizabeth Kolbert here - in case you are interested. I found this valentine on the way to Vermont a couple of weeks ago. I hope tomorrow brings us all a bit of normalcy as far as the weather goes.
P.S. Happy Valentine's Day!

The Mountain at Stratton

This photo doesn't do Stratton's mountain justice. We drove around this bend discovering the mountain in all it's glory - beautiful and ominous at the same time.

Meanwhile in Vermont...

I notice I enjoy the snow a lot more when I'm on vacation. As you can see here, wintertime in Vermont equals very pretty!

The Slushy Icy State of Farmingdale

On the brighter side, yesterday we had some sun as evidenced by the scene at Motor Avenue and Main Street below. Also, it is 34 degrees outside today too, which is nice.
