shadow portrait in rome and a long story too...

I snapped this photo last summer while in rome especially for shadow shot sunday. at the time I thought, maybe I'll save some of my italy pictures for winter time when it's cold and I want to have warm thoughts. it was a hot sunny day as I stood there taking in the cobbled street, but with the snow falling outside my window, it is hard to imagine. the cobblestones are so uneven in most of rome that you get a workout just trying to navigate them properly. I have a friend who said she ran a marathon on these streets - that, is really hard for me to imagine!

this post is a part of "hey harriet's" shadow shot sunday meme hosted by tracy. thanks tracy! please go here if you'd like to participate or see more shadow shots.

Your shadow looks just like you! Great idea to save some Rome shots for later. I could certainly use a little Roman warmth right now, so thanks!

Bello! I love your shadow portrait! And hey, compared to my long-winded waffling, your story wasn't at all long :)

A friend of mine just returned home from a holiday in Italy and she brough me back some awesome coffee! Wish I could visit italy myself though. One day...

Hope you have a lovely week ahead.

Ah! what a nostalgic shadow shot you showed today, at least to me.

Been roaming around there for awhile ago and loving every steps I done.

Benita mia... Ciao bella...

that's a wonderful shot. I don't travel, so I have no memories of Italy, but your picture gave me one. B : )

Why don't you come on over to my blog and visit a while

What a great shadow shot. And I'll bet it brings back wonderful memories for you.

Isn't it wonderful how a photo can bring back a flood of memories! Looking at your shadow shot brings back memories of my own visit to Rome in the summer of 1968. Thanks for sharing.
Hugs and blessings,
A very definite shadow shot! Nice capture.

Lovely shadow on these cobblestones. I know what you mean about walking on the stones though. There are two streets in Belgrade that have them, and I friends of mine live on one. Last night I went to dinner at their place, wearing nicer shoes, and it wasn't easy to walk!

Great shadow shot. I like the striking pattern the cobblestones make.

Great shadow shot, Lily! You can't walk on those cobblestones with heels but you can run a marathon in sneakers on them. :) Thanks for you thoughts and concern about how I'm recovering from the angiogram... :)
