tree design in sky

yesterday as the sun was setting I looked out my bedroom window and saw this fireball of light in the distance. I wish I knew what caused the red color in the upper left part of this photo. it looks like a reflection but I know it couldn't be since I opened my window to take this photo. does anyone have any ideas?

today is skywatch friday, if you'd like to see more skies from all around the world or if you'd like to add your own sky, please go here, thanks to klaus and his team, sandy, wren, fishing guy, louise and sylvia. happy skywatch friday everyone!

Oh, I love this! I have a thing about bare trees against the sky, just find it particularly beautiful and this is such a terrific example of what I mean! And yours is one of the best I've ever seen because the tree does have a very intricate pattern. Fabulous, Lily! Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Such intricate patterns formed by the tree. The soft sky really makes a great background.

Nice! I love sunsets through trees. On my post today I have something similar.
A mesh net of tree branches. Great to see now as the view will be very different when the leaves bloom! Lovely.

Beautiful Lily! Was it cloudy at all when the picture was taken? Sometimes here if there are any clouds at all they will have the reds of the sun reflected on them. The red is the same red that is showing a little around the sunburst is why I asked.

That's beautiful. I love the tracery of branches against the sky. Don't know what the red thing is though, unless it's caused by some sort of reflection of the sun in your lens.

Love your photo - the bare branches make a really nice pattern.
As far as the red - I get that a lot because many of my photos are taken from a moving car through the windows. It is actually a reflection from your camera - when you are focusing, there is a red light - so when you snap it quickly, you might get this. Point your camera toward you and just try to press it halfway down to focus and you'll see what I mean.

Wonderful tangled view of the warm orange sunset! Enjoyed your urban views too. I shared a couple of those myself this week ;-)
Hugs and blessings,
This is such a beautiful sunset Lily. Perhaps the red color in the corner is a reflection on a cloud?

Excellent selection for Sky Watch!

«Louis» thinks Susie is on the right track with her idea about the origin of the red.
Great silhouette style photo. Thank you for your kind comments in my blob. Thanks for sharing and have a nice SWF!!!
