z is for zoom

in my last post, you could barely see this from a distance. zooming in created a nice contrast of texture between the sea and ship. I imagine it would be especially great to see this through a much more powerful lens, though I still like this effect regardless.

today is abc wednesday thanks to our host mrs. nesbitt. the letter for the day is Z. please go here to join in the fun.

What a great shot, Lily! I like the "texture" between the ship and the water! Great Zoom for the day!

Looking at this again, it's almost like looking at target ships from the periscope of a submarine.
«Louis» is having flashbacks on the film "Run Silent, Run Deep", Capt. Edward Beach's fictional account based on his experiences as a WWII submariner.

amazing what a good zoom reveals

It looks like a ghost ship. Are you sure it's not the Flying Dutchman?
It is effective but rather scary

Wow, that's a cool shot! I love the way the water sparkles and the ship looks kind of soft and misty.

I love this - the zoom renders a completely different 'view'. Terrific.
HI Lily

I like both shots! This and the distance one in your prior post. To get such a good zoom shot without using a tripod means your husband must have steady hands.
