shadows on the beach

please click on photo to see subtle shadows up close

if you click on this photo, you can see the lifeguard's rowboat with the name robert moses on it. we went to the beach yesterday around 5 o'clock. I was surprised it wasn't more crowded. as I lay down resting on our beach blanket I couldn't help notice the symphony of noise around me. there were crying babies, people yelling and people laughing. somehow the waves crashing on the beach seemed to drown out all the noise to a comfortable level.

today is shadow shot sunday. if you'd like to see more shadows, please go here and visit the great hey harriet blog thanks to tracy.

The white sands are quite amazing, at least to me.

Now there's a beautiful image if ever I did see one! What a magnificent looking beach! How white that sand is, and blue the sky! wish I was there amongst all the crying and squealing beach-goers ;D

Omigosh!! That is EXACTLY where we were at 5 p.m. Saturday!! I'm surprised we weren't in the photo!! We left right about 5:20 p.m. and were parked just to the left of the photo!! The group of girls in the background left of the boat took a group photo of my husband and our two friends near the umbrella line signs right before we left!!

We had put our spot much closer but as the waves kept jumping over onto the beach, we slowly made our way back, moving 2 times!
Being born in Greenport, L.I. and living near the water..always a beautiful feeling. Something about the water and peaceful sounds.
Great shot.
Happy SSS.

This is wonderfully bright and I love the contrast between the sand and sky.

There is no where in the world the same as Long Island. Tourism is the largest source of revenue on the Island. We are so lucky, no wonder so many people want to live here. PGma

What a lovely white sand beach ... complete with shadows too!
Hugs and blessings,

I like photos of beaches but rarely like going to the beach. Mexico was a rare situation, where you just sat under an umbrella and were served drinks and snacks.

this beach looks awfully sunny!
Oh wow! The white sand contrasting with the blue sky is simply spectacular.

Looks like you had a great beach day.
