I like very much old cars. I had a metallized gray Jubilee Beetle (not really an old car: about 1970) and I'm sad to have sold it. I appreciate white wall tires too!

Vintage cars are such fun.
I love the real old ones, with running boards, and hood ornaments.
When I was about 6 years old, Daddy would come home from work, turn the old Pontiac into the driveway and stop until my friend and I would climb onto the running board. Then he would drive VERY slowly the length of the drive as we held on. Always remember the Indian head hood ornament on that one.

So is it a 1953 or 1954? Whichever it is, I like it.

Oh Lily, the house and car are perfection together!

Bobbie, what a sweet memory! thanks for sharing it.

Thank you James for pointing that out! The license plate read 1953!
It was a little late for me last night, I think I should've been asleep instead of posting!

I like any car that runs, old or not!

I'll bet Bobbie remembers when it was OK to ride in the back of a pick up truck. We had so much more freedom, everything is so different now. Somehow we all managed to stay alive. I'll bet she also remembers roller skates we attached to our shoes. I could go on and on. PGma

That's a great pic, Lily!
A friend came by recently to collect me in her vintage red Chevy pickup truck. I have a slight case of amaxodophobia (fear of riding in a car), so was chagrined to learn that vintage cars (those made before seat belts were mandatory) are exempt from that law. No seat belt—and no shock absorbers to speak of either! Even given all that, still kind of a fun ride.

Oops, I just combined 2 phobias. Amaxophobia is fear of riding in a car; hodophobia (I have that one even worse) is fear of driving a car.

I've seen this car around town as well. My boyfriend works restoring cars in the summer (he's a teacher)... right now he has a 56 Pontiac station wagon he's working on, an '84 corvette, 2 Bugs (61 and 68). We go to a lot of car shows regularly as well as car museums. In fact we're leaving on vacation tonite and our trip will include a stop at the Studebaker Museum in South Bend, IN.
