we had some sun in the early morning yesterday but it was gone before I could start taking pictures. I snapped this giant shadow sometime in december before all of the snow started falling. please visit hey harriet's, 'shadow shot sunday' meme if you want to join in the fun or if you'd like to see more shadows. & a big thank you to tracy for hosting shadow shot sunday. try and stay warm everyone!
That house is a perfect canvas for decorative shadows! How lovely! And I like the round shrubs. I often see those and think to myself how clever they are to grow so perfectly round like that. And I wonder why mine don't. I must have bought the duds! ;D
Thanks so much for your kind words about my photo blocks!
this is my first Shadow Shot Sunday- and I had to go back in time for a captured shadow I like your crystal clear capture of the shadow and branches. Very well done.
Hi Lily!! Happy New Year to you :) Love your photo...you'd never know by that green grass that it was from December though! Enjoy your week! Karla & Karrie
You have heard of LI & its many stereotypes? You wonder if they may be true but wish not to risk visiting in the event that they are. Be bold then & visit me daily & I promise I will show you many sides of Long Island that you will be both amazed & inspired by.

This is gorgeous. This is what winter shadows are all about, decorating white houses! Really.

Your photo is sooooooooooo charming!!! It's like a welcoming mat to enter the home and find friendship and/or a family filled with warmth.
Mine this week is a heron casting its shadow near the marina.

Sometimes winter are pretty but sometimes we really need a sun.
I am waiting to next post :)
Greetings from Poland :)
Very interesting shot. That is one big tree.
It's interesting how the tree fits the house!
Lily, you always seem to capture the most wonderful images. I love a sunny day in winter the shadows seems so much crisper than in summer.
This is a great shot, even though not recent. I browsed back a bit and see that you were really hit by snow! Some here, but it's almost all gone.
