while we're on the subject of deer...

This is how much it was snowing when I left Vermont yesterday. I must admit I did panic a bit when I looked out the window at seven am. As much as I enjoyed my mini vacation it was time to go home and the thought of being snowed in would have sucked any and all of whatever rest and relaxation I had gleaned over the weekend. Check out the road below, and don't worry, I wasn't driving.

That's a familiar image in my part of the world, too. Love the yellow deer warning sign among all that snow!

Pretty snow shots--even if it can be miserable to be out and about in. Watch for those deer--we have over 500,000 in the state of Kansas, and well over 10,000 accidents a year involving them. Mickie

I'm really hoping winter will be over soon. The snow and the slippery road are much more to watch out than the deer though.

I love those signs. When we were kids, my brother and I would make lists of the signs saying deer, elk, moose, mountain sheep, etc.
Guess you arrived home safely. At least I hope so.

Very nice. The snow looks beautiful outlining the trees and powerlines. That yellow sign really pops out!

Two great shots. Hope you got home alright and had a great time this weekend!
The road looks treacherous. You may not have been driving, but you had to look down that long, slippery slope...

THE SEEKERS OF YELLOW

The seekers of yellow, they say,
Will have a most terrible day
Should they not behold
Cream, amber or gold
To burnish life’s dull shades of grey.
