snowbound

alexa from the amazing blog, 'the road is mine'  left a comment on yesterday's 'long island daily photo' post about driving the morning after last weeks storm. it may be hard to believe but if you were able to dig yourself out, you could drive your car around town. by 8am the side roads weren't the least bit icy and the main roads were sanded and slushy. of course I drove around town about 5 miles an hour! I probably would have been nervous if it was still snowing or freezing rain - like what is expected between now and wednesday. I think icy slick roads are the worst & I hope that with today's weather, everyone gets to where they are going safely.
to share a part of your world or just see more of others, please go to "that's my world tuesday". a big thanks to klaus for hosting with his team of helpers, sandy, wren, and sylvia.

It is very cold here. -33 Celsius, which is 27 degrees below zero Fahrenheit.
We had snow, and a melt, then a freeze, then lots more snow. My husband actually fell while walking the dog this afternoon.
I'm so glad I'm going to the west coast on Saturday.

I noticed first the nice "bouquet" of trees, then the splashes: red and then white...

This photo is great, a typical winter scene. I don't mind snow-covered roads, but icy roads are horrible, especially with all the hills we have around here. You've had more snow this year than we have here in Colorado Springs, although our cold beats yours today (-19 F or -28 C right now).

Oh, I don't envy you the snow and cold, Lily, but it is beautiful! And what a great shot! I love the spot of red! Perfect exclamation point!! I should be ashamed of myself for whining about our gray, grim weather! It's cold, but no where near that cold!!! We actually have sun today and I'm feeling positively giddy!! Hope your week is going well! Stay warm and safe!

How very thoughtful of that man to wear a red jacket for this photo! I asked my building's super, "On a scale of 1 to 10, how sick are you of shoveling snow?" He said, "46!" How about you, Lily?

We're getting the snow now. riving was so-so this morning. Several broken down cars (10F) made it very slow. Expecting much more tomorrow. The schools are already closed!

Love that view of the street!!

thanks for all your nice comments everyone!
& to answer miss alexa's question, I really don't mind shoveling too much because I get to be outside exercising. but I hate it when I have to wake up extra early just to shovel my car out!
I can't wait to see what the groundhog will predict.
