sunrise on the new england thruway



























my husband and I wound up making an unexpected trip this morning to pick up our college student who came down with a bad case of influenza. it was still dark when we left so this gorgeous sunrise somewhere in connecticut was a hopeful way to start the day.
I can't tell you the relief we feel having him sleeping on the couch at home. and the best part is his fever went down - yay!

I know, right! it is odd! this is what happens when I decide to blog from my phone in the wee hours of the morning when I probably should have been napping.
so, for everyone else who didn't see the earlier version of the above photo, it is now the proper size.
& yes it WAS cold! New England type of cold. we couldn't turn the heat off in the car for a second w/o the chilly air invading the car.

Love the way the "industrial" smoke is tinted pink too. Hope you'll be making this trip again soon—to return a healthy kid!
