winter has arrived
I'm not sure I've ever seen this type of sign before. this makes me glad to see an awareness of wildlife and some concern for its safety here on busy long island. in other news, it is a mere 27 degrees outside as I type this post. I can see the pachysandra has frozen over appearing deader than dead - among other things, throughout our backyard . it amazes me how they always spring back to life in between such frosts.

And the duck/geese crossing signs are needed. I know of a few spots where geese especially cross the road from ponds to fields.
