the forsythia are everywhere now, people's backyards, along the parkways. the yellow flowers are so fleeting, I only wish they stuck around longer.if you'd like to gaze at more wondrous skies from all around the world or if you'd like to add your own sky, please visit the skywatch friday meme, thanks to klaus and his team, sandy, wren, and sylvia.
I love Forsythia. They flowers stand out so beautifully on the highways and my backyard. When a branch touches down on to the soil, it sends out roots and you can cut it off and plant another future bush.
thanks for posting this photo. I'm a transplanted Long Islander living in the Dallas area since last summer. with a twinge of homesickness, I googled forsythia on meadowbrook parkway this morning and came up with your blog, which I just added to my favorites. Thanks for the taste of home :) Linda in Plano TX
You have heard of LI & its many stereotypes? You wonder if they may be true but wish not to risk visiting in the event that they are. Be bold then & visit me daily & I promise I will show you many sides of Long Island that you will be both amazed & inspired by.

The bright yellow against the blue sky is gorgeous. Ours are in bloom right now too but the wind and rain have taken many of the blooms away.
I know—they bloom for about 5 minutes, right? Sooo glad you captured them while they ARE here!
