playing in the suburbs
I'm always happy to see signs like this as a reminder to people to slow down as they enter a neighborhood. I often wonder why the speed limit is 30 mph in a residential area as opposed to say 15 or 20. if you think about it, a car moving at 30mph can do a lot of damage. speaking of damage, yesterday a plane crashed in east farmingdale about a mile away from where I live. sadly one person was killed. it could have been a lot worse since many planes flying in and out of republic airport fly directly over our community.
my thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the deceased as well as the other three passengers of the plane, who are all hospitalized with serious injuries.
life is fleeting and uncertain, please take time to slow down and just be.
this post is a part of mellow yellow monday, a nice place to visit when you need a break from reality.

The sign, however, is great.
My brother and his wife and many of their neighbors have their own signs they put at the ends of their driveways. Lots of laughter about "our slow children playing" but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Yes, I read about the plane that crashed. Sad...
people drive way too fast around here on narrow streets full of children playing
a plane crash is indeed a horrifying event.
I love the fallen leaves all around the sign.
