a fire in farmingdale

I just dropped my son at the library when I noticed billowing clouds of smoke rising up over farmingdale in the distant sky yesterday. the fire must have just broke out since there wasn't a fire truck in sight. as I drove past the burning building I heard a man shouting in disbelief how quickly the fire took over the structure. go here if you'd like to see more of my pictures of the fire posted on the farmingdale patch website.

Wow, that's not what we mean when we're stuck for photos for a certain letter and decide to wait until something comes along. Ouch.

So sad. Amazing that you were right there. Your photojournalism is amazing. The telephone poles look so white!

Oh, I do hate to see fires and so much destruction so quickly, but great that you had your camera and was able to get such an amazing shot! Hope you have a great day, Lily!!

One thing that I am scared of is fire. It goes so quick that you don't have time to collect anything, just to run for your life.

Luckily though the buildings there are very close to one another, it appears no other building was affected. Also no one was hurt in the fire. I feel for the owner. 5 fire departments responded. Great shot Lily.PGma

Oh my gosh! You can certainly see how one would die quickly from smoke inhalation! What a awesome shot.

Oh dear. I hope no one was hurt.
Did they figure out what caused the fire?

Thanks for all of your comments everyone.
I actually drove towards the fire because it was in a part of Farmingdale where my parents live. No one knows what caused it but thankfully no one was hurt!
