I took this last june while sailing onlake montauk. of course I wasn't actually sailing the boat myself but I was indeed on a sailboat as we passed by this perfectly picturesque scene.I live in a fairly congested part of long island so it always amazes me when I see I am not very far from such quiet beauty.
We all need a bit of quiet in our lives, don't we? Guess that's why we moved to the country. Gorgeous area there and someone is VERY lucky to live there by the lake.
Its the same way for us living in the middle of city like NYC and then we can walk across to Riverside Park and the Hudson .. or a few blocks east to Central Park and all its waterfalls
I would love to have a horse farm overlooking a lake.
Stay safe on Sunday. Last night there was an interview on the news from Long Beach. Hope our daughter's house survives if there is flooding. The weatherman said that the cooler water temperature should slow down the wind somewhat. I sure hope so.
You've captured this place so beautifully. In fact, I'm less than a mile from there now. Was supposed to have a nice looong weekend here in Montauk, but we're battening down the hatches on my friends' house and heading back to the city. Thanks a lot, Irene! Hope you (and your house) stay dry this weekend, Lily.
You have heard of LI & its many stereotypes? You wonder if they may be true but wish not to risk visiting in the event that they are. Be bold then & visit me daily & I promise I will show you many sides of Long Island that you will be both amazed & inspired by.

That is a very tranquil scene...very nice.
Such a peaceful scene and soothing colors.
