the giant snowflake star on 57th and fifth

who doesn't love this giant snowflake/star that hangs suspended over the intersection of 57th street and 5th avenue in manhattan? I always thought of it as strictly a snowflake but if you take blurry night photos like me, it does appear to have a star like quality to it.
