snowman in the suburbs

does anyone remember that winter about ten or so years ago when it seemed like every week we had a blizzard? it snowed so much, we were literally snowed "in" on a regular basis. this photo was taken around easter time. yes, it was a long winter that year!
today is abc wednesday and the letter for the week is S. I don't know why I thought of snow right away. according to this article, the farmer's almanac predicts an unusually frigid winter this year while the national weather service predicts a warmer than usual winter. I keep thinking we are going to get lots of snow. what do you think?
if you'd like to see other representations of the letter S,

Lily, what a beautiful and lively image!
Here in Piedmont the snow is at about 2000m for the time being.

I am sorry to say it, but I do think we will have a lot of snow this winter, or at the very least, very, very cold weather.
Love your snowman!

I think that must have been the winter my Other Half was in NYC on business, and he and his colleagues got stranded because the plane couldn't leave. He said cars were damaged in the streets because of hail stones!

I was glad to have him back!

The snowman is great, and the child's face just beautiful. Such an expression of wonder!

I predict a old fashioned winter, with allot of snow in January and February, finishing off with a good sized one in March. We'll see. :-) PGma

I remember making snowbabies with my sister which were basically smooshed snowboulderthings with faces. - The blue eyed girl you'll see on Thursday.

I want to say that it was the winter of '94. It seemed to snow almost every Thursday or Friday. I had recently been elevated to the position of "tech placement" which in more mundane terms meant dispatcher. The primary goal was to strategically place audio-visual terchnicians all over Manhattan to cover conferences, press events, etc. It always looked flawless on paper until the snow inevitably hit, wreaking havoc with scheduling. It probably marked the first time in my life that I seriously considered the effects of stress on the human body. Happily, I'm still here to write about it today!

I want one (only one) big snow storm that happens on a Friday and it shuts down everything (no work and a long weekend to play). Long cold winter days are great to spend in my craft room making a card or scrapbook page. When there is snow on the ground it's fun to take our dog out, he loves the snow.
Fun! Yes...we've heard the same....snow, cold....here we go!
