can you see the dove?





























my husband and son discovered her this weekend. good thing we put off getting our tree pruned. now it will definitely have to wait, at least until the babies are born and well on their way! does anyone know anything about baby doves? to share a part of your world or just see more of others, please go to "that's my world tuesday". thanks to klaus for hosting with his team of helpers, sandy, wren, fishing guy and sylvia. please click on the photo if you'd like to see more details.

Lovely shot! I love mourning doves--they remind me of times spent on Cape Cod with my Grampa Parker and his family. Good times :)

She is beautiful. I know nothing about baby doves. We have doves at our feeders everyday, but I have never seen a baby and have no idea as to where they nest. I love this photo.

We had a whole lot of doves this spring but then the Merlin came, now we're down to one or two. they are so calm and not afraid of us. Love the picture. Pgma

We have a ton of these in our yard, but I haven't seen any of their nests. I think they nest higher up in my yard.

She's beautiful—and I hope you get to show us the babies. I also hope for your sake that this tree is not right outside your bedroom window (unless you're either a heavy sleeper or like to get up at o'dark-thirty).

yes, a couple years ago I put my spider plants out early since it was very warm. Immediately a dove made a nest in the planter. I couldn't water the plant and it wilted. Mom and dad rotate in 12 hr shifts on the eggs. About 2 weeks later neither baby made it. We quickly emptied the nest, watered the plant and then lo and behold the mother came back and layed 2 more eggs... 2 weeks later, 2 baby birds and then they left after a few days. The following year my plants went out and back came mom and dad... This year I delayed putting out the plants until last weekend and so far I don't have any doves, I hope she went somewhere else... yes, its nice, but I don't want them honestly. Good luck.
