kuerner farm reflections

there is nothing like an impromptu road trip to spice things up a bit. the trick was to find someplace close enough to visit by car in just 36 hours. so we found ourselves at kuerner farm, a source of the great american artist, andrew wyeth's inspiration for many of his most famous paintings. the visit was well worth the extra hours spent battling the nearly stand still traffic coming home on the belt parkway. more photos from the farm to follow. meanwhile, please check out james of newtown area photo's wonderful weekend reflection meme if you'd like to see more reflections or join in the fun.

Great choice for Weekend Reflections, Lily!

(Andrew Wyeth is one of «Louis'» favorite American painters.)

Very pretty reflection on the window, but it's the mossy blocks that really caught my attention! I love moss. :)

A picture of rural peace to make up for all the traffic!

Excellent selection for Weekend Reflections! Andrew Wyeth was one of my mom's favorites! He has a Maine connection, too, which endears him to many of my friends. ~karen
You have a keen eye. Often, we just pass by without noticing.

Yes, I heard from a friend whose husband went to Denver ( I think) and it was zero degrees.

Great shot, I also love the moss on the block walls and the rust.

That's a really nice picture and I totally agree about road trips. I love exploring but I haven't been here yet. Kuerner Farm is only about an hour drive from Newtown or more during rush hour. I look forward to seeing more pictures. Thanks for giving me a new place on my list of things to see. :)

LOVELY! I am sO wondering what's in that shed! Treasure, I bet!
For some reason, this spot reminds me of Mt. Vernon and I expect to see George Washington walk around the corner. Likely it isn't that old, but it is that tranquil!
