first february skywatch 2011

this was yesterday's sunny blue sky over jericho turnpike around 4pm. you'd never know by looking at this photo that there are piles of snow everywhere. today is supposed to be filled with more sunshine. I am so psyched! if you'd like to gaze at more wondrous skies from all around the world or if you'd like to add your own sky, please visit the skywatch friday meme, thanks to klaus and his team, sandy, wren, and sylvia.

I'm fascinated by the hanging traffic lights. We don't have those.

We had sun yesterday and I was positively giddy all day, ran around taking pictures of everything! It didn't last -- back to gray today and for the next week if the forecast is right???? Who knows what the chance of that is! Great one for the day, Lily! Hope you have a great weekend and hopefully some sun!!

Green light for GO! At least the sun came out to play on a cold crispy day!

I cannot believe it is Friday already. The days/weeks are just zipping by. TGIF, Lily!

Very well composed image. I like the criss cross of wires in the fore ground.

Look at that compass-point pink!!
Oh, this is brilliant--just flashing with color!

TO THE SKY

Sky by day or sky by night,
You are always my delight,
For in blaze or subtle hue,
Sky, my heart belongs to you.

Blazing Sky
Dear Lily, I linked your blog to the Jarvis House blog. If the weather doesn't get above freezing soon, my shrubs may never look the same. May is the best time to visit the garden. I try to photograph whatever happens around here. Enjoyed your site too. Cheers, Lori from the Jarvis House

Very cool photo, love the pink circles. Best to focus on a beautiful sky than on the ground.

If you can't fight 'em (the overhead power lines), use 'em! Love those sunspots—just hope you weren't blind when the light changed and you had to drive on.

Great shot. I've driven the Jericho Turnpike many times, in what seems like another lifetime.
