a very old tree at vassar college

Vassar-College-tree

a couple of days ago when we took our son ian to see vassar college, this was the tree we found in front of the library. we all wondered just how old it must be. the library itself was pretty amazing too. below is the light fixture that hangs in it's entranceway.
this post is dedicated to the 'abc wednesday' meme and today's letter is the letter O. if you'd like to see other representations of the letter O, or if you'd like to add your own O representation, please visit 'abc wednesday'.

That is one awesome tree. I can't believe the size of it. What a landmark for the college.

Amazing tree, beautiful library, and I love the chandelier... there are plenty of O shapes in it, too, along with it probably being as old as the tree and the library.
Good choices for O day.

What fun - we're also on the university trail. Is your son a prospective student too? We didn't see any interesting trees like this, tho.

The college will be well hidden once the leaves decide to come back on this beautiful old tree.

When I see trees like that I wish they could talk and share all they've seen happen ...

One of my friend's son and daughter both went to Vassar. It's a wonderful college. I can see you are on the college visit circuit :) We did that with both my kids 1o years ago! Good luck to your son--hope he gets in his first choice!
