happy first day of summer

still, we are not on long island, but we aren't too far! this shop is in soho on the isle of manhattan. I thought this scene was fitting since today is the first day of summer. notice the pigeon eavesdropping.

Lily, the first day of summer is 1 June, non? The 21st is the summer solstice for you - the longest day of the year, and for us, down under, the longest night of the year!

Hi M,

I've enclosed a link in my post that explains the first day of summer. I heard on the radio that it was today, but according to this site it was actually yesterday(the 20th)Hmm,I was never aware it varied from the 20th to the 21st. Interesting.
Are you looking forward to the longer days over by you?

Oh yes Lily, I don't mind the cold so much but it is the lack of sunshine that I don't like. But in a couple of months we'll be off to europe anyway so we'll miss the cold wet last month of winter at least.
