the path to the fire island lighthouse is one of my favorite walks to take on long island. ian and I made the trip on september 2nd and although it was a perfect summer day, the subtle changes in nature's color indicated that autumn was well on its way.

A very refreshing path.
My older brother does not live far away from this lighthouse and I've done this walk many times with him and his family when I visit. It's beautiful!

A stripey lighthouse is such a classic seaside thing. I wonder why that originated.
