Driving Inside the Queens Midtown Tunnel

I don't know why, but driving through the tunnel always feels like an adventure to me. My husband used to tell our son that if you opened the little doors on the walls inside the tunnel you could let the water in from the east river.

Very nice shot, Lily. This tunnel seems well lightened. I wonder how long does it take to reach the town through the tunnel.

I don't know for sure Pietro, but it feels like less than 5 minutes.

Great picture!

I used to think the same thing about the water coming in when I was younger.

I haven't been to the city in ages.

Wow, I thought it would be much more than $5 by now. I've been taking the Queensborough Bridge for years - it's so lovely, and no children can open little doors, flooding the tunnel, and drowning me!

Of course, I do have a weird driving-on-bridges thing, where I have to REALLY concentrate on driving STRAIGHT, not OFF THE SIDE.

Haven't been in this tunnel in years. You can let the water in by opening the doors? LOL! Love it! ;-)

Please tell me you weren't driving and photographing at the same time. :-)

Islipian, it's funny how we humans cope isn't it?

Actually Ming I forgot to give my son credit for the photo. He got tired of me taking pictures while driving so now he'll take some photos when I ask him too!
